    Internet – The Beginning of Digital PR

    You know, when we go to a supermarket in Indonesia, sometimes we have a problem with choosing a product because one type of products has so many brands. Shampoo product in one supermarket has 50+ different brands (or maybe more?). Because of this, the competition between brands is getting higher too. And this thing makes me wonder:

     “How the company differ their product from other products?”

    That is why, many companies and organizations start using PR services. As the companies grow bigger and have so many public they have to handle and manage, the image and reputation of the company become extremely important. Each brand should have some uniqueness and should be able to differentiate themselves from other brands. That is one reason why PR roles is getting more crucial. The bigger your companies grow, the more they need PR to maintain their image and reputation.

    But, as the world changes, PR is changing too. PR is dynamic, PR can changes anytime. In this digital era, traditional PR is not too effective anymore. We can call it out-of-date. WHY??? Because nowadays, people, are desperately crazy about getting their hands on handphone and the internet. We don’t have to walk for 2 blocks to talk and see our friends but we just need one click on social media. It is so amazing, right? The Internet is such a wonderful tool for education, work, information, and play that sometimes we wonder how we survived before this. By 2014, 46,1% population in this world are internet users and this number is still growing every year.

    “That is why Digital PR is going to be the future PR to adapt with today’s digital environment.”

    Digital PR is most likely about online presence and who’s not online today? Almost everyone is online right now. As a Public Relations student in this era, I really aware about the importance of digital PR. Digital PR can be a perfect tools to reach a more suitable target audience from a digitally environment. From what I have learnt, if you can make the right content for digital PR, you can construct the public perception and change the public opinion about your companies or organizations.

    Hnow the world and people changing in the future, PR is going to change as much as the world and the people. But for now, I think digital PR is the right tools and the most effective ones to approach the public. So what are you waiting for? Let’s go digital!

    Perkembangan Industri FinTech di Indonesia

    Sebelumnya, kita sudah sempat membahas mengenai apa itu fintech sebenarnya. Namun, sebenarnya, bagaimana sih perkembangan industry fintech di Indonesia sendiri?

    Kesuksesan berbagai sektor bisnis baru yang berbasis technology di Indonesia seperti gojek, ataupun bidang e-commerce seperti tokopedia, bukalapak, dll, tentu saja menarik perhatian berbagai pemain bisnis lainnya untuk mengembangkan bisnisnya dengan basis technology, salah satunya di sektor keuangan.

    Fintech di Indonesia sangat berkembang pesat sejak tahun 2016 dan tidak dapat dipungkiri, kehadiran FinTech sangat membantu masyarakat luas dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Sebut saja, kehadiran e-banking, e-money, dan lain-lain yang tentunya membuat waktu menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien.

    Menurut Data dari Tech in Asia Indonesia, fintech merupakan sektor bisnis dengan jumlah investasi terbanyak kedua di Indonesia pada tahun 2016 yang lalu, setelah e-commerce.

    Perusahaan FinTech di Indonesia dibagi menjadi 4 kategori, yaitu ;

    1. Market Provisioning seperti CekAja dan Cermati

    2. Deposit, Lending, and Capital Rising seperti UangTeman dan Investree;

    3. Investment and Risk Management seperti Bareksa dan Stockbit

    4. Payment, Clearing, and Settlement seperti Midtrans dan Doku. Kategori ini merupakan kategori yang paling ramai karena diisi oleh sekitar delapan puluh perusahaan.

    Menurut data dari AFI (Asosiasi Fintech Indonesia), di Indonesia setidaknya ada 120 perusahaan Fintech di Indonesia. Dimana 36 perusahaan diantaranya adalah perusahaan yang aktif dalam layanan keuangan berbasis teknologi ini. Selain AFI (Asosiasi Fintech Indonesia) juga ada sekitar 80 komunitas Fintech yang ada di Indonesia.

    Kalau diibaratkan seorang bayi, perusahaan Fintech ini sebenarnya sedang dalam masa yang lucu lucunya. Ini dikarenakan usia Fintech yang ada di Indonesia rata rata masih sangat muda, yakni baru berusia sekitar 2 tahun. Data ini didapatkan dari AFI (Asosiasi Fintech Indonesia) dimana sekitar 78 persen perusahaan Fintech yang ada di Indonesia baru mulai berdiri pada tahun 2015 – 2016, masih cukup muda untuk ukuran sebuah perusahaan keuangan yang berbasis teknologi.

    Sedangkan 22 persen sisanya terbagi dalam 3 bagian lagi, dimana 9 persen perusahaan Fintech mulai berdiri pada tahun 2013 – 2014, 6 persen perusahaan Fintech mulai berdiri pada tahun 2011 – 2012. Sisanya sebesar 7 persen perusahaan Fintech mulai berdiri antara tahun 2011 hingga 2012, atau berusia sekira 4 hingga 5 tahun.

    Berkembangnya FinTech di Indonesia tidak hanya membantu masyarakat penggunanya tetapi juga membantu perkembangan ekonomi di Indonesia. Hal ini disebabkan karena dengan keberadaan FinTech, perekonomian Indonesia mengikuti dan menjadi lebih sesuai dengan kemajuan teknologi terkini. Mendukung perkembangan ini pun, BI telah membuka kantor FinTech Indonesia pada akhir 2016 kemarin. Tidak hanya itu, BI juga telah merancang regulasi-regulasi FinTech di Indonesia untuk mendukung perkembangan FinTech di Indonesia.
